Spin Lines Shawl update

I’ve been working diligently on the Spin Lines Shawl for my mother-in-law and it’s coming along. It will end up being a full skein of DK weight Malabrigo (I can’t remember the base, but it’s discontinued) and a half skein of an undyed MCN from Anzula, so it’s not going to be massive, but a perfect size for everyday wear (in my opinion, but what do I know, lol). I’ll be finishing it this weekend, in time to block it before my trip to Scotland next Wednesday. It’s a little longer than pictured in the photo below, but you can really see the pattern and how the yarn colors are working up. I was tempted to block it already to see how it looks blocked, but I’m going to finish it first.

I am also hoping to finish my Ranunculus top before my trip, so we’ll see if I get that far. I think I have about 5 inches more to do on the body/ribbing and that’s it, so not a ton, but I want to make sure all my knitting time goes into the shawl since it’s a gift and I want it ready to give when I arrive next week. I checked with TSA today and they assured me that knitting needles are able to be carried with me on my flight, so I can always finish the Ranunculus while I’m flying. I will also be taking a shawl I started, the Hipster Light by Joji Locatelli which is a one skein fingering weight project. I’ll make sure to snap a photo of that and put it up before I leave on the trip. The yarn is absolutely stunning, it’s a subscriber colorway from Gritty Knits that I wish I could get more of but it’s sold out.
I want to also take a larger project on the plane, but haven’t made up my mind yet on one. I have a cardigan that I am about 20% finished with, and I also have a design idea in my mind for a pullover, but I think that one is better left to working on at home.

As always, I’d love to hear what you’re working on and what’s going on in your neck of the woods, so please leave me a comment! I hope this post finds you well <3
