Very V-Neck Raglan (new WIP) and Botanical Doodle Hat test knit (FO)

Hello! I have been doing a lot of work in the background the past couple of months and I think I’m starting to really have a clear idea of what I want to prioritize in terms of my creative life. I’ve been working diligently to make lists of what needs to be done on my part daily to facilitate what I want to have happen in the coming months and I feel like I’m on a great track, just as a small update to the happenings of A Grateful Tangle.

I was pretty set on not starting any new knitting projects until my WIP list was handled, but decided about a week ago that I really needed a larger project to work on that was on the easier side and that I would be able to wear this winter, as motivation to get it finished, so I chose to make the Very V Neck Raglan sweater by Jessie Maed Designs. I’ve had the pattern for a while, and recently was able to get my hands on 5 skeins of La Bien Aimee Merino DK in the color Kitsune, which is a stunning and rich rust orange-red. I’m making it in the size XL and am altering the pattern so that the sleeves are not as flared out as written, just to make it easier to wear as an everyday garment and not worry that they will get caught on anything (or worse, get damp because they don’t stay up when I’m washing my hands, lol). I adore the deep v-neck and think I will keep it slightly cropped. I’ll take some photos of my progress so far while I’m out with my weekly knit/crochet group this evening. I think I have about 30 more rows to go before I join to knit in the round. It’s a top-down construction so I’ve been working flat and increasing to form the V-shaping. The yarn is an absolute dream. It’s soft and very bouncy, and I think the fabric is working up to be something I will be able to wear all winter, as it’s not too tight of a gauge so as to make it too warm.

I’ve also been working at organizing my yarn stash, and have made a bundle on Ravelry of patterns that I have the yarn for so that I can start picking new projects by perusing ones that I have all the yarn for.

I’ve also almost finished writing up (FINALLY) the pattern for The Starfall Headband that I designed over the summer. Life got away from me so it kept getting back-burnered, but it’s now almost ready for testing. An email will go out to my newsletter subscribers and will also go out on Instagram, so if you’re interested in that, those are the best ways to hear about the test call. It’ll be made in worsted weight yarn, somewhere close to 100 yds.

Lastly, I finished a test knit I was working on for Pacific Knit Co about 2 weeks ago. They have come out with a Botanical Doodle Pack and I got to test it, deciding to use the beanie pattern they have. I made mine open at the top to accommodate a messy bun, as I love wearing hats but hate having my hair down under them. There are a few other new Doodle Decks they have released recently, I encourage you to check out their Instagram posts, the recent ones are full of tester photos for the new releases and they are just stunning.

Anyway, that’s about it for now!
