website updates and a few projects

I’ve been working on getting the grateful tangle website up and running, and so far it’s been going well. I have a lot that will change in the next few months, but the idea is there. I like the color theme so far, and I’ve got at least some information to let people know at least the bare bones of what we are. I’m going to be designing a logo in the near future as well, but for now I am satisfied with the home page, and will hopefully get the blog in its place as well. Any feedback for the site so far is welcomed.

I also set up a page for my irl knitting/crocheting group with an integrated calendar for our meeting dates. Currently I have the meeting locations posted in the private Facebook group, but I wanted to have something for people who, like me, just don’t care for Facebook. It’s become a necessary evil for my Monday night fiber get-togethers and I would hate to miss out on any participants because not everyone is on a certain platform.

As far as crafting projects go, I’m making some progress. I have 3 main WIPs: the Ranunculus top, the Spin Lines shawl, and the Starfall Head Wrap pattern that I’m writing up.

The Ranunculus that I’m making is over halfway complete. I’ve finished about 9cm on the body after joining under the arms, and until I reach the ribbing it’s stockinette in the round which is pretty mindless. I’ve been keeping it in my purse to work on here and there for that reason, and I will hopefully finish it before my trip to Scotland in a couple of weeks.

The Spin Lines shawl is getting closer to finished as well – good since I intend to gift it to my mother-in-law when we get to Glasgow. I’ll be working diligently on that this week. The pattern is a 24 row repeat, so it requires me to pay attention, and therefore has taken a few weeks to get where I am on it. I’m confident that it’ll be done for my trip though, and I am loving how it’s coming along. I’ll try and get a photo of it tonight at my knitting group.

The final project is a narrower version of my Starfall Head Wrap. I intend to get the test knitters the edited copy of the pattern before I leave for Scotland. I want to release the pattern in early November, as it’s a perfect pattern for holiday gifting, so having testers finish in October should be plenty of time for them and give me a week to work their thoughts into the final pattern. Test call will go out this week, so make sure to sign up for my newsletter if you’re interested in it.

That’s about it for my updates. I’ll post photos of the headwraps later this week, and have a pic or two of the Spin Lines shawl up too. I hope everyone is having a peaceful beginning to the week!
