So, you may remember the hat pattern that I came up with a couple of weeks ago, one that I was inspired to make after some thunderstorms and rain that we had. I’ve been working on writing up the pattern, both for the original concept and for a one-color version, and MAN OH MAN, it is not easy, lol. I was hoping that I would have the patterns both ready for testing by last weekend, but it’s taken quite a bit longer, so now the goal is to get the test call out before the end of September. I’m working on one more of the two-color version right now and using a slightly thinner yarn weight so that I can make sure I am addressing row gauge issues, as no one wants a hat that is too short. I’m actually thinking about putting out the test call for the one-color hat this week and have it be a stand-alone pattern since, as I write and test the two patterns, they are very different in how they’re knitted up. I’ll have to think about how I want that to work, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be testing the one-color one soon. The call will go out to my newsletter subscribers and also be in my Instagram stories.

As for non-knitting content, I have started a new adventure! I have joined some online friends to begin a Dungeons & Dragons campaign! I’ve never played before and have always wanted to, and some friends in a Discord server I’m in put out a “hey, anyone interested?” post a little while ago, so I said YES! We’ve only had two sessions so far, we get together once a week, and they’ve been WONDERFUL!!
Lastly, I’m trying to update some things on the blog. Specifically, I would like to have links to sites I like in the sidebar, whether that be YouTube channels, fiber companies, books I’m reading, etc. The current blog “theme” I’m using doesn’t seem to have the widgets set up to be as customizable as I would like, so I’m thinking I’ll have to just old-school html what I want, which might take a couple of weeks.
Anyhoo, I hope everyone is having a great September so far! Let me know what you’re up to!
